Arc Raiders is down.

Popular extraction shooter, Arc Raiders, is down Friday afternoon. The game still loads and players can still manage inventory and team up, but if you attempt to start a match you’ll encounter problems.
When I attempted to load into a match in a party, the game would begin matchmaking and then simply stop and show “Ready” with no explanation. My teammate was unable to cancel matchmaking and I was unable to ready up once I’d stopped the matchmaking process.
When I attempted to load up a new match solo, I received this error:

“Matchmaking has failed,” the error reads. “Please try again in a little while.” The code ARMR0002 accompanies the message.
It’s unclear what is causing the matchmaking error at this time. The issues began shortly after noon PT / 3pm ET with thousands of reports on Down Detector.

Players on the Arc Raiders subreddit are also reporting that the game is down, and grumbling (understandably) since a powerful Matriarch boss just spawned on the Dam Battlegrounds map.
As of this writing, there has been no official explanation on the Arc Raiders social media. I am seeing some commenters on Down Detector reporting that the game is back online, though you should restart your game to make it work. This is a developing story…
