Ché Adams completed his hat trick in stoppage time as Scotland earned a 4-0 win over Liechtenstein in a friendly on Monday.
Adams took just four minutes to open the scoring, picking up on a loose ball in the opposition’s box before sending it flying past goalkeeper Benjamin Büchel with a ferovious strike.
“That’s one thing we spoke about in the dressing room, getting a fast start,” Scotland boss Steve Clarke said.
He doubled Scotland’s lead later in the first half with a tidy finish into the bottom left corner.
The result was put into little doubt when George Hirst got on the end of a cross at the back post to net Scotland’s third before Adams nodded home to complete his hat trick with a just seconds remaining.
“It’s been a while since the strikers scored,” Clarke added.
“I spoke to both of them before the game. I said, if ever there was a game where they could both play up top, this was it. If ever there was a game where they could both get on the scoresheet, this was it.”
The result come after Scotland lost 3-1 to Iceland in a friendly on Friday. Their next game is a 2026 World Cup qualifier scheduled for Sept. 5 against Denmark.
