Here’s The Rather Absurd ‘Street Fighter’ Movie Cast List Right Now

Street Fighter 5
You may not even realize this is happening, but there is a new Street Fighter movie in the works, which will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, coming in the wake of the successful Mortal Kombat movie and a bunch of other winning video game projects.
There is, of course, an objectively horrible but cult-classic Street Fighter movie in 1994, which has a similarly wild cast to this new film that included, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Ming-Na Wen and…Kylie Minogue, among others. Now? This new cast may give that a run for its money. With new, recent additions, we have:
Warrior
Andrew Koji as Ryu – Now this is a serious pick, possibly the only one, as Koji is a stellar martial artist and the star of the fantastic, overlooked Warrior series.
PARK CITY, UTAH – JANUARY 19: Callina Liang visits the IMDb Portrait Studio at Acura House of Energy … More
Callina Liang as Chun-Li – The hugely important role is being given to a relative unknown, who just appeared as a teen in the horror film Presence, which absolutely did not have any fighting in it.
The Recruit
Noah Centineo as Ken – He is a leading man. Well, a leading man on Netflix, at least, who has starred in a number of that service’s movies and shows, including the recently cancelled The Recruit.
Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Jason Momoa as Blanka – Well, I mean, he has the hair. He’s probably one of the biggest names on this list, about to do dual superhero duty between his old time as Aquaman in the DCEU and his new term as Lobo in the DCU. That should be an interesting bit of makeup.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK – JULY 15: 50 Cent attends the “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” New York Premiere … More
50 Cent as Balrog – Wait what? Yes, 50 Cent has been acting for a long while now, but we have moved into the more random choices on the list here, to be certain.
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – APRIL 07: Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes look on during Night Two at … More
Cody Rhodes as Guile – As in, current WWE superstar Cody Rhodes. We obviously have pulled a number of actors from the WWE, from The Rock to John Cena to Dave Bautista, but we’ll see if Rhodes has what it takes.
Roman Reigns as Akuma – If one WWE star wasn’t enough, the film also has Reigns showing up as the red-haired fighter. I’m less certain about his acting abilities compared to his cousin, The Rock, but we’ll see. No, you won’t scroll down further and find The Rock in this list.
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA – MAY 29: Andrew Schulz speaks onstage as Netflix is a Joke presents … More
Andrew Schulz as Dan – The comedian is taking on the role of running joke Dan, which could work out.
HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA – NOVEMBER 25: David Dastmalchian attends the Los Angeles Premiere of Walt … More
David Dastmalchian as M. Bison – Even in a list that includes a rapper and two wrestlers, this is the most confusing casting to me. M. Bison is the hulking villain of the Street Fighter universe, where “hulking” is the last word I’d use to describe Dastmalchian. Amazing actor! But what on earth is this take on M. Bison going to be?
NEW YORK, NEW YORK – MARCH 03: Orville Peck performs onstage during the 38th Annual Tibet House US … More
Orville Peck as Vega – Okay we’re just joking now right? The masked country singer with zero acting experience is playing the mysterious masked fighter. Are we casting based on affinity to wear masks? What is the idea here?
There are more roles to cast (where’s Cammy? Zangief?), but wow, this is just incredible so far. I have no idea what’s going on. Allegedly we’ll find out in 2026.
