Anyone who reads my posts regularly will know how I love a gadget. Anything that makes life easier and more fun must be a good thing, right? Recently, I came across Rolling Square, a company based in Chiasso, Switzerland, that designs a range of useful gewgaws for life’s everyday problems.

The philosophy of functionality, premium quality and high-end design comes from the feedback from Rolling Square’s customers. By combining that feedback with the design expertise of the brand’s Italian product designers to nail the usefulness, durability and appearance of products that remove the barriers between people and technology.

Rolling Square has won numerous honors for its products, including four CES Innovation Awards, a Good Design Award and three Red Dot Design Awards. The company makes a range of portable chargers that challenge the stereotype of large and chunky devices that take up a lot of space in a workbag or carry-on luggage. To counter this, Rolling Square produces a couple of tiny travel power adapters/chargers.

Have Pocket Will Charge

The Pocket Travel Charger is a tiny little GaN-powered device that can handle AC voltages ranging from 100V to 240V. It’s a charger designed for globetrotters and has foldaway prongs for E.U., U.S., U.K., and Australasian power outlets, making it compatible for use in more than 200 countries around the world.

There are two versions of the Rolling Square Pocket Travel Charger. The first provides 30W of power and has a single USB-C output, making it suitable for charging a tablet or a smartphone.

The second version provides 20W from a USB-C port and 20W from a USB-A port, giving the user a bit more flexibility for charging more than one device but still packing enough power for phones and tablets. With the choice of USB-A and USB-C outputs on the second version, users can power up two devices simultaneously and stay connected when traveling.

Pricing and Availability:

The single-port 30W Rolling Square Travel Charger is available now from rollingsquare.com and priced at $29.90 / £29.90 / €29,90.

Need More Power?

Rolling Square also makes a more powerful but equally small GaN charger in the form of the Supertiny model. Billed as the smallest 65W charger ever made, this is the kind of power adapter that can charge and power a laptop or a phone.

Available in three different versions with fixed Type A, C, G prongs for use in the U.S., E.U. and U.K., the Supertiny is a high-performance charger that’s safe for use in a wide range of devices, including laptops, smartphones, and tablets.

Powered by Gallium Nitride technology, the Supertiny can reliably charge a laptop up to 65W but is lightweight and travel-friendly. It has a single USB-C port that supports Power Delivery for faster and efficient power transfer and is compatible with most USB-C devices.

Additionally, the Supertiny charger has a custom design featuring a ribbed surfaces that help prevent full-surface contact with fingertips when it’s hot and charging at maximum speed for prolonged periods. The ribs make the charger feel cooler to the touch while providing a surface that’s easier to grip when pulling the charger out of the power outlet.

The Rolling Square Supertiny charger is available now from rollingsquare.com or Amazon and priced at $49.90 / £49.90 / €49,90.

Keeping Tabs On Things

Rolling Square also makes a range of tracking devices that are compatible with Apple’s FindMy protocol. The AirCard Pro is a credit-card-sized tracker with the ability to have its built-in battery charged wirelessly. Many card trackers are single-use devices that may last for two years and then must be thrown away.

Fortunately, some tech companies—including Rolling Square—produce card trackers that have rechargeable batteries and yet are still almost as slim as a credit card. Rolling Square claims its AirCard Pro is the first card-sized Bluetooth tracker with a wireless charging battery. It’s also Android and Apple compatible and features an integrated Digital ID feature.

The white versions of Rolling Square’s AirCard Pro work with Android’s Find Hub network, while the black version works with Apple’s FindMy network. Using a low-energy Bluetooth signal, the card detects devices within the Android or Apple network and then triangulates its location anywhere in the world.

Find It With Sound

If you lose your AirCard Pro or other tracking device, you can make it beep using Apple’s Find My app. You can also ask Google or Siri to find your keys or wallet and make the device beep. The AirCard Pro includes a 20mm buzzer that can be heard in nearly any condition or in narrow spaces like the pocket of a wallet.

As soon as the AirCard Pro or other tracking device is left behind somewhere, the user gets an immediate notification through the Apple FindMy app. This feature is not yet available with the Google Find Hub app.

The AirCard Pro’s 220mAh rechargeable lithium battery can be charged wirelessly and provides up to 12 months of power, whether it’s being used with an iPhone or an Android device. When the battery runs out of power, the user just needs to place the AirCard Pro on a wireless charging mat and wait around 90 minutes for it to be fully charged.

Unique Digital ID

By scanning the QR code on the AirCard Pro, users can access Sherr.it. This is where users can create a unique digital ID with contact info and social media links, as well as a short bio anyone can see simply by scanning the QR code on the card.

If you lose your wallet with AirCard Pro in it, a custom message can be set up via Sherr.it and show only the desired contact info, letting those who found your device scan the QR code to easily contact the owner.

AirCard Pro is just 2.2mm (0.086in) thin—thinner than two credit cards—and built with two almost-unbreakable epoxy fiberglass resin sheets that encase the electronics inside the CNC-machined, anodized aluminum frame, which has a chamfered profile for a thinner feel.

This design provides some level of scratch resistance as well as flexibility and durability over previous versions of Rolling Square’s AirCard, while keeping the ultra-thin profile so it can fit almost any wallet card slot.

Pricing and Availability:

The AirCard Pro is available now from rollingsquare.com or Amazon and priced at $39.90 / £39.90 / €39,90.

Tech Specs:

  • Dimensions: 85.4 x 54 x 2.2mm / 3.4 x 2.2 x 0.09in.
  • Materials: CNC-machined aluminium, G10 epoxy fiberglass resin.
  • Weight: 18g / 0.63oz.

Taking Things Up A Notch

Alongside the AirCard Pro, Rolling Square also produces something called the AirNotch Pro, which has many of the features of the AirCard Pro in a different shape and design. The AirNotch Pro provides Android and Apple compatibility with 360° omnidirectional sound.

The white versions of AirNotch Pro are for exclusive use on the Android Find Hub network, while the black version only works with Apple’s FindMy network. Using Bluetooth LE, it detects devices within the Android or Apple network and then triangulates and locates its position anywhere in the world.

The AirNotch Pro is a useful device for those of us who routinely forget where we put our keys. The device can emit a powerful 360° omnidirectional sound made by two buzzers placed on opposite sides of the AirNotch Pro. The sound can be heard from any angle and users can ask Google or Siri to help locate the keys by making the AirNotch Pro beep.

Inside the AirNotch Pro are two CR2032 lithium button batteries, which can power the device for up to 20 months of uninterrupted use. When the batteries need replacing, the battery compartment can be opened using the included metal ring to swap them out.

Glow In The Dark

To my knowledge, the AirNotch Pro is the first keyring tracker I’ve seen with luminous parts that glow in the dark. Inspired by Swiss luxury watches, Rolling Square has added the feature to make it easier to find keys in the depths of a backpack, purse or under a couch and avoids using the buzzer in quiet places.

The AirNotch Pro is engineered to be robust and waterproof thanks to a construction of two ribbed ABS plastic shells bonded to a sturdy CNC-machined anodized aluminum frame. It has custom gaskets for IP68 waterproofing and everything is secured with twelve Torx screws.

Using the CNC-anodized aluminum hook, the AirNotch Pro can attach directly to keys without an additional keyring accessory. Built with a sandwich design, the AirNotch Pro aims to offer longer battery life, a louder buzzer, while still being sturdy and compact.
