Star Resonance Closed Beta Test

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance
A PLUS JAPAN
The English-language Blue Protocol: Star Resonance Closed Beta Test is live this weekend on PC and I’ve been checking it out for myself ahead of the game’s global launch in October. There are eight total classes to pick from with two variations per class and tons of fast-paced action-packed combat to enjoy.
I’m still early on in the Closed Beta for myself, but I’ve seen a lot of large zones, big boss fights, and some surprisingly charming characters already. The bar isn’t high, but I’d argue Blue Protocol might have some of the best opening hours I’ve seen in an MMO in quite a while due simply to the main companion character not being incredibly annoying like in a lot of these games.
How to Play the Blue Protocol Closed Beta Test
If you previously signed up and registered for the CBT then you should be in the queue to eventually get an access code. You’ll receive that code via email and input it on the game’s official website after you login to your game account. Click the little mail icon on the main home page for the code prompt box.
After you put in the code to activate your account with CBT access, just download the launcher down in the corner of the website, get it all patched up and installed, and you’re good to go.
If you haven’t gotten a code yet but signed up previously, they’ve stated that additional access codes will continue to be distributed during the CBT. And if you never signed up but want to try it out still, head over to the game’s official Discord and see if the signup forms are still active. They may do activation code giveaways on social as well.

After you enter the game, you’ll create your character and get started. You don’t actually name your character until after the first opening moments, so don’t be alarmed at no option to change your name just yet.
You might notice that it disconnects you or says the servers aren’t available when you try to initially login, but just try a few more times and it should work fine. That’s what happened to me, but once I was in I never had any more issues.
Once Blue Protocol: Star Resonance out officially, it will be playable via Steam and also on mobile—with shared servers! You can pre-register for the game on Android here or iOS here.
All character data and progress in Blue Protocol will be wiped after the CBT so there’s a clean slate for launch in October.
