Former Welsh Rugby Union chair Gareth Davies accepts past regimes, including his own, have contributed to the game’s current problems.

But he tells the latest Scrum V podcast an “almighty crisis” could follow current regime plans that could see the professional tier reduced from four to two clubs.

Davies, who was governing body chair from 2014-2020 believes it is “defeatist” to think Welsh rugby can only produce up to around 90 players for the professional tier.
