Apple iPhone 16 Discounted In New $133 Sale

Apple iPhone 16 buyers have been treated to some huge discounts recently. With the threats of tariffs pushing the iPhone price up to $2300, it’s a good time to pick up the Apple flagship while it’s still cheap.
EE, a mobile network in the U.K., is the latest to slash the price of the iPhone 16, knocking £100 ($133.58) off the entire series (minus the iPhone 16 Plus), without the need to enter into a contract.
- iPhone 16 – £699 ($933.64)
- iPhone 16 Pro – £899 ($1200.78)
- iPhone 16 Pro Max – £1,099 ($1467.91)
This is a sim-free deal (my favorite kind). You can get the iPhone 16 for no upfront fee with EE, and most other carriers, but these deals often lock you into a contract for two years. In that time you often end up paying the full price (and more) of the phone.
This £100 discount mirrors a recent Amazon sale that dropped the price of the Apple flagship by £100 across all models. The difference here is that EE doesn’t offer a trade-in option, nor does it bundle any wearables with the deal. This is a no-thrills, straight shot, iPhone 16 price drop with £100 off and nothing else.
No iPhone 16 Trade In? No Problem
The lack of a trade-in option, up against Amazon, isn’t a major loss. Amazon’s trade-in pricing is notoriously poor. A recent Galaxy S24 sale perfectly illustrated how little the company will pay for your used phone compared to Samsung.
- Galaxy S21 Ultra – $650 Samsung, $135 Amazon
- Galaxy Note 20 Ultra – $400 Samsung, $130 Amazon
- Galaxy S8 Plus – $300 Samsung, $5 (yes, $5) Amazon
- Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max – $300 Samsung, $140 Amazon
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max – $300 Samsung, $220 Amazon
- Google Pixel 5 – $300 Samsung, $35 Amazon
Samsung has unusually high trade-in pricing, especially during a promotion, so perhaps it’s an unfair comparison. But the gap between the Korean company’s $300 valuation of the Galaxy S8 Plus and Amazon’s $5 offer is too stark to ignore.
Despite EE’s lack of freebies and trade-in options, the carrier has established itself as one of the cheaper places to buy tech (including the iPhone 16) without a contract. In 2022, EE expanded its range of gadgets to buy outright to include consoles. It’s now one of the few shops selling the PS5 Digital at its original, pre-hike, price. Keep an eye on the mobile operator’s site for more deals as it tries to compete with other major retailers.
