Following deals that knocked hundreds of dollars off the Pixel 9 series, and increasingly generous trade-in offers for Samsung’s newest Galaxy S25, the Apple iPhone 16 has now joined in with its own major offer.
After slashing the price of the iPhone 16 in May, Amazon U.K. is back again with another huge discount for the flagship Apple series, including one of the first price drops for the new iPhone 16e.
You may notice that some models are £1 ($1.34) cheaper than the May Amazon iPhone 16 sale, making these prices technically some of the cheapest yet for the iPhone 16. But, of course, £1 makes virtually no difference in the real world. What is significant is that the iPhone 16e, which landed on February 28th, has been discounted. This might be the starter pistol for more serious iPhone 16e discounts in the coming months.
As is always the case with Amazon’s smartphone offers, this is a no-thrills deal with no free cases, free tablets, or anything else thrown in apart from a purchase confirmation email.
- iPhone 16e – £579 ($778.69), down from £599 ($805.59)
- iPhone 16 – £698 ($938.73), down from £799 ($1074.57)
- iPhone 16 Plus – £798 ($1073.22), down from £899 ($1209.06)
- iPhone 16 Pro – £898 ($1207.71), down from £999 ($1343.55)
- iPhone 16 Pro Max – £1,098 ($1476.69), down from £1,199 ($1612.52)
£100 ($134.39) off the flagship iPhone range is about as good as it gets for Apple phones. There will be a short period where the iPhone 16’s price tumbles after the iPhone 17 launches (before it sells out). Until then, you won’t see many bigger discounts for a new unlocked Apple phone.
U.S. Apple Fans Had A Decent Trade In Deal

Up until June 18th, Apple ran an enhanced trade-in deal that beat the competition on used phone valuations. If you’re in the U.S. and hunting for iPhone 16 deals outside of signing up to a contract. Your only option is to buy directly from Apple, or pickup a second-hand phone elsewhere. This was the best deal going for an iPhone 16 at the time.
- iPhone 15 Pro Max – $650, up from $630
- iPhone 14 Pro Max – $460, up from $450
- iPhone 13 Pro Max – $380, up from $370
- iPhone 12 Pro Max – $300, up from $280
For the most part, these were small $10-$20 rises. The good news is that they beat Samsung’s iPhone trade-in pricing, which I consider to be the industry standard when it comes to trade-in valuations. Apple had the Korean company comfortably beaten here, as you can see from Samsung’s prices below.
- iPhone 15 Pro Max – $500
- iPhone 14 Pro Max – $400
- iPhone 13 Pro Max – $300
- iPhone 12 Pro Max – $250
Even the on the lower-end of Apple’s valuations, they still top Samsung’s numbers. As is often the case, your used-phone is always more valuable to the company that manufactured it. Samsung and Apple pay the most for their respective phones. Stay on top of the latest tech news and deal guides by hitting the follow button below.
