The new Iris IEMs from Campfire Audio provide an affordable entry point into the world of hi-fi.
CAMPFIRE AUDIO
Campfire Audio is probably best known for producing some of the best high-end earphones, or in-ear monitors as they are often called, beyond a certain price point. Now the Portland-based boutique manufacturer of IEMs has announced the launch of Iris, a new hybrid design of IEM that has Campfire’s signature sound but at a more affordable price.
While some of Campfire’s IEMs sell for thousands of dollars, the new Iris model comes in at a much more affordable price of $349. And the launch is just in time for the holiday season. Campfire Audio says that its new Iris IEM brings powerful performance, elegant design and everyday durability for music lovers seeking an accessible entry into high-fidelity audio.
Designed For Everyday Listening
The new Iris IEMs are built for listeners looking for high-quality sound with the minimum of fuss. They are aimed at newcomers who want to dip their toes into the hi-fi world for the first time.
Inside the transparent housing of each Iris earpiece is a 10mm ADLC dynamic driver, paired with a dedicated balanced armature.

These IEMs are also likely to appeal to longtime fans of Campfire Audio products who are looking for a pair of IEMs that are more rugged for daily travel. They will suit anyone searching for a premium-feeling gift that doesn’t require any audiophile expertise to enjoy.
“With Iris, we wanted to capture the spirit of Campfire in its simplest, most approachable form,” says Ken Ball, founder of Campfire Audio. “It’s a joyful, easygoing IEM. Something that feels instantly familiar yet still delivers that signature clarity and character people expect from us.”
The new Iris IEMs from Campfire Audio come with two sets of cables with 3.5mm single ended and 4.4mm balanced terminations. There is a wide range of ear tips in different materials and sizes, plus other accessories.

Campfire’s Acoustic Foundation
Inside the Iris IEMs are Campfire’s custom 10mm ADLC dynamic drivers, paired with a dedicated balanced armature for that provides a crisp treble reproduction. This hybrid system produces a warm sound that’s easy to listen to thanks to a design that balances clarity with musicality. Campfire Audio describes the sound as “instantly welcoming.”
Each of the Iris housings is a fully transparent 3D-printed shell that lets listeners take a peek at the precise engineering contained within. The earpieces have stainless-steel accents that add visual structure and durability to the design.
Compact, featherlight, and comfortable for long listening sessions, the Iris IEMs are intentionally designed to be taken anywhere and sit just above Campfire’s Axion model. Iris offers a higher-performance entry into Campfire’s lineup before stepping into the brand’s upper-tier audiophile models, including the excellent Clara IEMs designed by Alessandro Cortini of Nine Inch Nails fame.
