‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Is Teasing Something For Three Days From Now

Despite the fact that Cyberpunk 2077 said it was done adding new content over a year ago, there are still new patches and updates every few months. Now…something is happening with Cyberpunk 2077, as teased by CDPR on the official account today, but we don’t really know exactly what it is. Or if it will be in the game at all.
Here is the proclamation from NUSA President Myers, featured heavily in the Phantom Liberty expansion, dated three days from now on Thursday, September 4. Here’s the text of the message:
Message for N.U.S.A. Citizens
September 4, 2025
Our great nation is once again facing a mounting cybersecurity threat — from those who hide in the shadows, too cowardly to publicly proclaim their beliefs, who are viciously determined to tear down our flag and the values it upholds. I will not accept this, and I know you won’t either.
The N.U.S.A. is seeking brave netrunners to join our efforts and overcome this grave threat. Our brave agents work tirelessly to keep our country secure, maintain its dominance, and defend it from those so eager to undermine it. Now you can join us in our fight for freedom. I personally welcome all who believe they have what it takes.
Take our recruitment test. Prove yourself.
Serve the N.U.S.A.
So, this is extremely random, but at least to me, this does not seem like something that’s necessarily going to be in the game. I’ve heard players for the millionth time say this is no doubt teasing some sort of story missions or even a DLC or expansion, which I’m just going to tell you right now, it is not. We know the type of content added to Cyberpunk in these post 2.0 patches, and it is overwhelming cosmetic additions like clothes or face features or photo mode, or things like new cars.
With the “take our recruitment test” line, that says to me that this is going to be something asked of actual players outside the game for…some reason, and I will admit I’ve got nothing past that. Cyberpunk tries to do all its updates in an in-universe tone, even its patch notes, and that may be the case here too. Some are saying that this is a “we’re hiring” thing for Cyberpunk 2077 2, in production right now, but that doesn’t make sense to me with no actual link to apply and this tease of a Thursday date at the start.
I have no idea what this is, but I would be surprised if it was some sort of significant in-game addition that no one saw coming. Then again, CDPR has surprised us before.
