Elder Scrolls Online September Roadmap Paves The Way For Big Changes

Earlier this year, Zenimax Online Studios adopted a new Content Pass structure for the long running MMORPG, Elder Scrolls Online. Additionally, just last month, longtime Game Director Rich Lambert shifted positions internally, moving Nick Giacomini, former Director of Product Management, into the new Game Director role.
Previously, they relied on a traditional expansion pack model in which players would buy the new expansion itself, as well as optional content drops like dungeons and quest lines throughout the year. Under the new model, there is a singular content purchase for the entire year and everything is included in that purchase—kind of like a year-long battle pass.

As part of that new Content Pass structure, Elder Scrolls Online of course gets new content on a consistent monthly basis—which leads us to the September 2025 Roadmap.
Starting today, the latest duo of PvE dungeons dubbed the Feast of Shadows update is now available for console players. This includes both the Black Gem Foundry and Naj-Caldeesh, as well as Update 47 patch features.
This weekend will be a Domination Weekend Mini Event, allowing players to earn bonus AP during the Battlegrounds PvP events.
Then, at some point soon in September, the developers will host a Q4 and Update 48 preview livestream event to showcase what’s in store for the remainder of the year. Specifically, the big focus will be on the upcoming server-wide Writhing Wall event, which continues the progression from this year’s Cult of the Worm storyline.
Following that, Update 48 will actually be live for testing over on the PC Public Test Server (PTC) on September 15, so you can see everything for yourself a bit early if that’s what you’re into.
Wrapping up the month are a few more events and campaigns like the Golden Pursuits: Dungeon Descent activities on September 16-30 to earn Undaunted Keys and gold, the Undaunted Celebration in-game event on September 18-30 to earn more bonus rewards, and finally the Vengeance PvP Campaign across the Cyrodiil zone on September 22-29.

Despite this being a relatively slower and less eventful month for Elder Scrolls Online, that’s still a lot to keep track of over the next few weeks.
