2.20pm: Can West Indies light the maroon touchpaper today? Defeat in Friday night’s game was characterised by slows starts with the ball and bat – England racing to 78 for 1 in the powerplay, then keeping WI to 44 for 2 from their first six. Hope, like Brook, is new to the T20I gig but will want to see signs that the group are responding with an improved performance here

2pm: England win the toss and bowl, Brook says it’s “usually a good pitch to play on and hopefully we can chase a score down”. One change for England, Luke Wood replacing Matthew Potts in the XI. Shai Hope admits he too would have bowled first, but will grin and bear it: “We’ve got to adapt, make sure we start well and have a better powerplay.” West Indies have one tweak to the side, too, with Hosein available after arriving in the UK early this morning. He replaces Andre Russell, who hasn’t pulled up well after making the trip from Durham

England: 1 Jamie Smith, 2 Ben Duckett, 3 Jos Buttler (wk), 4 Harry Brook (capt), 5 Tom Banton, 6 Jacob Bethell, 7 Will Jacks, 8 Liam Dawson, 9 Brydon Carse, 10 Adil Rashid, 11 Luke Wood

West Indies: 1 Johnson Charles, 2 Evin Lewis, 3 Shai Hope (capt & wk), 4 Roston Chase, 5 Sherfane Rutherford, 6 Rovman Powell, 7 Romario Shepherd, 8 Jason Holder, 9 Akeal Hosein, 10 Gudakesh Motie, 11 Alzarri Joseph

1.30pm: Hello, welcome, roll up and grab a pew. England and West Indies are in Bristol today for a good time, not a long time. Harry Brook’s immaculate start to life in charge of the English white-ball revival continued with victory in the first T20I, and they can seal the series with one to play at Nevil Road. However, while West Indies’ power game was found lacking the other night in Durham, they might fancy their chances at one of the smaller grounds in the country; they will also be boosted by the arrival of premier spinner Akeal Hosein (No. 2 on the ICC rankings) after visa issues. As always, I’m Alan Gardner and I’ll be joined by Vithushan Ehantharajah to bring you today’s action. Toss and teams coming up in around 30 mins
