Faker Crowned Best Esports Player Of The Last Decade

League of Legends icon Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok has been crowned as the best PC gamer of the past 10 years at the Esports Awards Decade Awards celebration.
The awards ceremony, which was held after the closing ceremony of the Esports World Cup, honoured those that have had the biggest impact on the esports industry over the past 10 years, with a number of awards being handed out across different categories.
The award for the best PC player of the last decade was given to Faker, who in that time has won four League of Legends world championships and countless other trophies. He is undoubtedly the greatest of all time in LoL, but has now officiably been established as the best PC player of the last 10 years.
When it comes to controller players, Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro was handed the award, while Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was handed the breakthrough player of the decade award and Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun took home the coaching award.
Away from the players a number of industry legends were honoured with awards, with Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag taking home the esports personality of the decade award and Eefje “Sjokz” Depoortere being crowned as the on air talent of the decade.
“Over the past ten years, the growth in the esports industry has been incredible to see, and it’s been a great honour to recognise the icons who have contributed to its rise in popularity,” said Mike Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards. “Tonight, we showed the world just how global and impactful esports has become, and celebrated the individuals and companies that have consistently driven its success.
