GameSir G7 Pro, 2025’s Best Budget Xbox Pro Controller, Goes Wireless

The best low-cost Xbox pro-style controller in recent memory is finally going wireless. The GameSir G7 Pro, which may be among the best console peripherals of 2025, has just released a Wuchang: Fallen Feathers-themed special edition that no longer needs a cable to work on the Series X and S.

Even with fierce competition from wired and wireless third-party controllers alike — specifically, the Victrix Pro BFG and Gambit Prime — the GameSir G7 Pro is by far my favorite Xbox pad, and hasn’t left my coffee table since I checked it out in August.

I don’t especially care for the lower input lag from a wired connection, either; it’s simply the most comfortable controller I’ve used on Xbox, and its clicky buttons and trigger stops, plus those TMR analog sticks, are absolutely superb. Therefore, having a wireless option makes it irresistible, especially if you considered the standard G7 Pro, but the cable put you off.

There’s a good chance that its collab with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will hardly twist your arm to get one, given how it fell flat with critics and players alike when it arrived in July. That said, it looks stunning, and you wouldn’t know by looking at it that it’s a game partnership, even with the logo on the stand — it’s far from the pads created for DOOM: The Dark Ages.

If you’ve somehow missed the GameSir G7 Pro up to now, its strengths speak for themselves:

GameSir G7 Pro Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Edition controller specifications

  • Wireless connectivity for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Steam, and Android
  • Wired mode with 1,000Hz polling
  • Custom “Mag-Res” TMR analog sticks
  • Hall Effect triggers with micro-switch stops
  • Micro-switch ABXY buttons and mechanical micro-switch D-pad
  • Four mappable extra inputs (two shoulder, two rear)
  • 3.5mm audio jack, works with wired and 2.4G wireless modes
  • Quad vibration motor setup
  • Integrated gyroscope with mapping (PC only)
  • 1200mAh rechargeable battery
  • Three-piece magnetic, swappable faceplates
  • Detachable cable tidy for safer wired play

Unlike a couple of other third-party wireless controllers, the Wuchang G7 Pro features one-press Xbox wake-up and connects instantly. Most importantly, the controller’s smart auto start-stop charging unit is finally useful for Xbox players, as the one that comes with the regular G7 Pro is essentially reduced to a display stand. Even its braided, 3m cable looks the part, using the same golden yellow and cerulean as the controller.

Admittedly, it’s not quite perfect. The magnetized three-part faceplate is a bit more finicky to remove and reattach, perhaps due to the extra coat of paint for the Wuchang graphics, which means they sit a little more tightly together. Still, the design’s so pretty that you probably never need to take the plates off, aside from when you need to swap out the D-pad with another one of the two extra parts that come with it (a dish with raised directions, and your classic four-way cross).

Then there’s the recently upgraded GameSir Nexus software, which is among the simplest Xbox apps to use, and provides a few benefits that go beyond assigning inputs to its four extra buttons: gyroscope configuration, button-to-mouse mapping, and stick curve adjustment.

The GameSir G7 Pro Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Edition is available for $99.99 on the GameSir site, and should arrive on Amazon this month. If you’re still not sure about the price, it also comes with one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate — that’s worth $30 in itself, thanks to the recent price rise from Microsoft — as well as a sizeable Wuchang: Fallen Feathers keyring.
