Borussia Dortmund and Juventus drew 4-4 in Turin on the opening night of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

Vlahovic, 25, who Juventus tried to sell all summer, resurrected the Serie A side with two goals and a second-half assist to English defender Lloyd Kelly. He came off the bench to secure a scandalous stoppage-time draw against Dortmund, who were two goals up in the 94th minute.

Juventus-Dortmund’s 4-4 draw is the seventh time in UCL history that both teams have scored at least four goals in a match.

Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi’s scored in the 52nd minute with a left-footed shot from the edge of the box on the first opportunity he had to create a clear shot. Kenan Yildiz, the team’s tireless driving force, then secured the equalizer on a shot into the top corner from the right side.

But the joy in the Juventus stadium was short-lived because less than a minute later Adeyemi appeared again to assist Felix Nmecha, who scored another goal from outside the box, the third of the night.

The match was then back and forth until in the 67th minute, Yildiz’s sent a pass to Vlahovic, whose right foot finished it off.

Yan Couto’s goal in the 74th minute put Dortmund up 3-2 and Bensebaini scored at the 86th from the penalty spot after Kelly’s handball.

In the 93rd minute, with just 3 minutes left to play, Borussia Dortmund had the game in their grasp until Vlahovic decided to resurrect Juventus, hitting a direct shot from Pierre Kalulu’s cross in the 94th minute. Kelly’s finish followed a right-footed cross in the 96th minute.

In the second season of the new league-phase format, the top eight teams advance to the round of 16. The next 16 teams enter a two-leg playoff, with eight advancing.
