If someone asked me to invent an all-purpose charging device, I’d want it to include a power bank for when I am nowhere near an electrical outlet. I’d also like it to have enough power to charge my laptop.
So far so good, but then I think I’d like it to have Qi2 wireless charging mats for smartphones plus wireless charging for watches and earbuds. Finally, it ought to have a couple of USB power outlets for charging devices and maybe if it had an integrated cable that would be a cherry on top.
Believe it or not, those features and specifications are pretty much what Alogic has managed to pack into its new Roam charging device which goes on general sale and could be the answer for many workers on the move with their technology.

The new Alogic Roam 21,000mAh 6-in-1 Power Bank can charge smartphones, earbuds and even an Apple Watch while charging a laptop via USB-C at the same time. The Roam features a fold-out and adjustable Qi2 charging platform that can deliver up to 15W to almost any smartphone with wireless-charging capability, including MagSafe iPhones, which can be charged at full speed thanks to Qi2.
The Roam charger also has 5W wireless charging pads for topping up earbuds such as AirPods and there is a flip-up platform for charging an Apple Watch. Additionally, the Roam can recharge two USB-C devices with up to 100W of fast charging, either via its USB-C port or its integrated USB-C charging cable, that stows away in the device’s body so there’s always a charging cable to hand.
Inside the Roam there is a rechargeable 21,000mAh battery that’s been certified for carry-on luggage, so there’s no need to worry about any gadgets running out of juice on a long-haul flight. The 77Wh battery is comfortably below the 10Wh limit that’s been set by the International Air Transport Association, so there shouldn’t be any problem getting onboard with this particular device.
The Alogic Roam has a small color LCD display to show the charging status and battery capacity.
Alogic’s Roam is designed to make traveling with various tech devices convenient. Teh casing has rounded corners and a soft plastic coating so it doesn’t scratch any other items in a carry-on bag. The fold-up design and tethered USB-C cable mean it’s almost impossible to mislay.
The Roam’s adjustable Qi2 phone charding platform can be sloped at a variety of angles and it works with any MagSafe iPhone. The fold-out Apple Watch charging platform makes it easier to keep an eye on notifications, whether the device is on a desk, kitchen counter or bedside table.
So far so good. However, what you don’t get with the Alogic Roam is any kind of power brick for charging and powering the Roam. That shouldn’t be a problem for most people as any USB-C laptop charger would be a convenient way to power the Roam and replenish its power bank battery. For anyone who doesn’t have a laptop, then any reasonably powerful USB-C charger should be suitable for powering and recharging Roam.
