New Nest Cams, Doorbell, And Gemini Speaker Leak Ahead Of Google Launch

New Google Nest hardware incoming?
Android Headlines
Following the official announcement of Gemini For Home last week, signalling the search giant’s biggest smart home shake up in years, it looks as if we’re all set for a bunch of new devices to launch alongside the new platform.
According to a report from Android Headlines, which also includes some purported leaked images, Google is prepping a whole batch of new Nest devices, including third-gen Indoor and Outdoor cameras, a new wired Nest Doorbell, and also a Gemini-powered smart speaker.
It’s been three years since we last saw a proper Nest hardware update, so this leak suggests Google is finally gearing up to show its smart home range some love.
The biggest news of the leak is probably a new compact Google Home Speaker, which was actually first spotted during the Pixel 10 launch event last week.
It looks a lot like the old Nest Mini, but a bit bigger and presumably swaps out Assistant for Gemini. That should mean Gemini Live too, which will add natural language queries, and Sound Sensing, which can pick up noises like glass breaking or a smoke alarm when you’re out.
Audio is apparently a big focus too, with 360-degree sound and balanced playback promised, plus the option to pair it with a Google TV Streamer for a little extra home theater kick.
The third-gen Nest Cam Indoor is also detailed and looks to finally upgrade from 1080p to 2K HDR; a big jump on the last model that dropped back in 2021. Google’s also expanding the palette, offering the camera in Snow, Hazel (dark gray), and a bold Berry red.
Beyond sharper footage, the new cam brings zoom-and-crop up to 6x zoom, three hours of 10-second event previews, and a one-hour local storage backup for Wi-Fi dropouts.
All the usual Nest tricks return are said to be on board including Activity Zones, Familiar Face Alerts, Garage Door Alerts, with Gemini supposedly onboard to power intelligent alerts for people, animals, and vehicles.
The Outdoor Nest Cam is also in line for a revamp. A new wired model gets its first refresh in years with the same 2K HDR resolution and Gemini smarts as the new Indoor model.
Colors are limited to Snow and Hazel, though only the Snow variant comes in multi-packs.
The new wired Nest Doorbell rounds out the camera lineup leak, sporting the same 2K HDR upgrade and fresh colors: Snow, Hazel, and Linen (a beige shade).
Beyond sharper video, it also gains Gemini-driven Daily Summaries; an AI recap of your day’s events, rolling out across the entire new camera line.
The subscription side of Nest is changing too. Nest Aware is said to be being retired in favor of Google Home Premium, with an Advanced tier replacing Nest Aware Plus.
There’s no word on when all of this will become official but, given Google has already unveiled Gemini For Home, then I wouldn’t expect us to be waiting too long for the shiny new gadgets to live alongside it.
