Now Available On A Contract That’s Cheaper Than Retail Price

Google’s latest phone, the Pixel 9a, is now on sale. It comes in four new colors and has a different look from the rest of the Pixel line.

And there’s one deal that makes it so cheap on contract that even with the cost of 100GB of data factored in, you still won’t have paid the full price at the end of the contract. This offer is for all four colors: obsidian, iris, peony and porcelain.
The deal highlighted in this post was independently selected by the Contributor and do not contain affiliate links.
The deal comes from U.K. phone retailer Mobiles.co.uk and it works out at better than 0% interest.
The Google Pixel 9a with 128GB storage — and the same Tensor G4 chipset as the pricier models in the Pixel 9 range is a neat upgrade with a nearly flush camera panel which looks tremendous. It is fast, has improved AI over the previous model and a bright 6.1-inch display. For all that, it sells for £499 ($653).
The Mobiles.co.uk deal (you can find it here) works like this. The deal comes with a plan from ID Mobile. The 24-month contract includes 100GB 5G data per month, unlimited call minutes and unlimited texts.
There’s an upfront fee of £79 ($103), then the monthly fee is £14.99 ($20). There must be a catch, you might ask? Well, the monthly fee goes up every April. So, you’d pay £16.49 ($21.59) from April 1, 2026, and £17.99 ($23.57) from April 1, 2027.
This means that if you bought the phone today, you’d pay £79 plus 11 payments of £14.99, 12 payments of £16.49 and one payment of £17.99 by the time your contract ended. That adds up to £459.76 ($602), which means you’re still quids in at the end, in other words, you’ve saved more than £40 $52) over the purchase price of the phone if you bought it outright without any minutes, texts or data included.
ID Mobile is owned by the electrical retailer Currys, which also owns Mobiles.co.uk. If you’re in the market for the Pixel 9a, it’s hard to see a much better price coming along.
