Christian Schools: Doing More Harm Or Good?

By - - [ Matters Arising ]

There are so many Christian organizations building schools in every state in Nigeria. Popular churches own institutions, both secondary and tertiary ones. Landmark (Winners Chapel), Covenant (Winner chapel), MountainTop (MFM), Babcock (7th day adventists) etc.

These are all privately owned institutions. The fees are huge that only the wealthy or better put, the ones that can afford it. I have so many friends in those schools aforementioned. I know the intent of these religious organizations is to build and train students/individuals to become better people in the future.

But these institutions are just masking the true behavior of these students. They are more or less in a cage, if that's not too much to say. Because they have all these strict rules like no phones, no smoking, must attend church services and stuff. Strict punishments follow if one doesn't comply.

Students just find devious means to accomplish all they want to do, so in the real sense, these institutions aren't really helping individuals in a manner of speaking obviously. I don't really believe these religious organizations shape people to become better.

What do y'all think?

These are institutions own by popular prophets. But still they are the most expensive school around. For the face that it is being owned by a Christian doesn't give it the course that it's not a university or polytechnic.. School will never change. Student will Always be student.. even most of the lecturer are not as holy as we think. We should just keep praying for our children in higher institutions

Christian schools in Nigeria does more harm than good..  Irrespective of the fact that it's a Christian school if u check around they re yet still the most expensive schools in the country.. If u also check around via newspaper and news.. We tend to see that this same christian schools that re meant to be holy undergo much atrocities and illegal acts. In my opinion Christian schools are much overrated.

In my own view Christian institution do more harm to their students in following reasons.

Firstly, the payment of their huge fees, they're so strict to their students and always wanting them for only religious patterns. There's no freedom for them to do their own rightful things and quote me this, this students always feel the hugeness of trying something new and in this case, they might engage their self into social misfit.

Christian schools go a long way in helping in the upbringing of our children. The teachers are all good. I think the problem is from the students themselves, they want to do things bigger than them. Social media only is a way of bringing down the good standards of our children.
