Christian Schools: Doing More Harm Or Good?
There are so many Christian organizations building schools in every state in Nigeria. Popular churches own institutions, both secondary and tertiary ones. Landmark (Winners Chapel), Covenant (Winner chapel), MountainTop (MFM), Babcock (7th day adventists) etc.
These are all privately owned institutions. The fees are huge that only the wealthy or better put, the ones that can afford it. I have so many friends in those schools aforementioned. I know the intent of these religious organizations is to build and train students/individuals to become better people in the future.
But these institutions are just masking the true behavior of these students. They are more or less in a cage, if that's not too much to say. Because they have all these strict rules like no phones, no smoking, must attend church services and stuff. Strict punishments follow if one doesn't comply.
Students just find devious means to accomplish all they want to do, so in the real sense, these institutions aren't really helping individuals in a manner of speaking obviously. I don't really believe these religious organizations shape people to become better.
