  • If they have the means, I believe they should defend their life(family, business, property as well as everything that belongs to them), but if they don't have the means, they should come back home, nobody will beat talkless of killing them in as much they did not go against the law of the country.

  • Saying Nigerians should stay there and defend themselves to me is not right

If we are not allowed  in SA all Nigerians there should come back home and all SAs down here should also return to their country as simple as that.

  • It is obvious that they are getting their revenge over Nigerians in South Africa, but that isn't the right option.

The government should do every possible thing within her power to stop these attacks to avoid further damage because most people use MTN

  • As For me I urge them to come back to their countries so as to save the lives of  their families, but if they are that they wouldn’t be able to leave their business and investments there in SA they should dim it fit to protect themselves from harms and dangers

  • I think it is better for the Nigerians over there to return back home and use the available resources around, as to remain in a country that does not value the life and properties of the Nigeria Citizen.

  • I feel our fellow nigerians over should stay out of danger and protect themselves if capable to do so on their own. But if they have the available finance to come back home they should without hesitation because safety of lifes is key.

  • It will be the best decision to come back because I am seeing this thing as a way of the South African to feel so independent...

Just look at investments they have here in Nigeria, shoprite, Stabic ibtc, MTN...

They believe we don't have tho commodies an dwhen we gather together we can do far more better than them, we are strong and popluar as a nation so why don't we leave that there country and stay at peace here at home.

  • I think they should come back since the country is not doing their work to protect the Nigerians. They should leave before they cause more harm to them. If they decide to stay, they must be ready to defend themselves with anything they have.

  • The sudden aversion developed by south African on Nigerians is appolling I don't even know the possible means if protecting the lives of our families over there, seeing that this babarians Even attack them at home, I think the only way of keeping them safe I'd for them to fight back, yes I think self defense is the only option, let them not relent in fighting back.

  • This a serious matter in a critical time. Coming back home or defending themselves against xenophobia in South Africa. We must note that defending themselves over there is not feasible as they are defenseless. Coming home too will be a serious task as all their lives has been built in South Africa. If they are to return to Nigeria. Then, the Nigerian government should be ready to take care of them.

    - Usamat Aminullah - 2019-09-04 16:39:18 Quote

  • I don't think defending your self in a foreign land is the best option for now and coming back to Nigeria is not the solution. There are international governing council who will come together and deliberate or dialogue on this issue. More so, Nigeria government can give south Africa government conditions on basis of create enabling environment for our people in South Africa and if the conditions can not be met, all south Africans living in Nigeria should leave this country.

I may not know the reason for this xenophobia but South Africa if only you could remember what Nigeria has done to a prominent citizen of yours @ Nelson Mandela. Before acting the way you do why not you consider those good things before thinking about the bad!!!  Say no to xenophobia

  • This is war. Saying they should defend themselves by any means possible is still a suicide mission because Nigerians are outnumbered. Its sad that this fued is occurring in Africa between africa. We should be looking for a way out not a way to prolong the issue. Everyone is advising Nigerians to come back home but where would they stay. Has provision been made to camp or house them

  • It is crystal clear that south African do not  want us in their county again, they should come back home pls, their lives are more important than any investment they have there, its only when you  have life that you can think of  investment. They shouldn't take risks ,Nigerians, come back to your father's land

  • Returning back home though is not going to be easy, but is the best option for all nigerians living in South Africa. As the government of such country are not even showing concern on the happenings in the country. My reasons are, this is not the first time such a thing is happening and all they do is just sit back and do nothing. Enough is enough.

  • This I believe is a wise move by Ohaneze Ndi Igbo. But is it the best option. Its better to resolve this issue amicably so that Nigerians in south Africa can continue to live peacefully and in good terms with their neighbors

  • Not only nigerians over there are told before they come back home, the more they stay  there, the more these people kill them, let all come back and rebuild our own nation and let live a  better life rather than been victims of killings over there.

  • From what I think nigerians can never  have power in another country I think nigerians should come back to their motherland so this killings can stop Nigeria is getting better from before we can all make it more better than other countries treating us like slaves and killing us like we are chickens and not human being

  • it's so sad, seeing and hearing all of these happenings. For christ sake we are blacks and supposed to be seen as one but in this context no one is loving their neighbour as said  in the bible. It's more painful to see that we are our own problem. We claim to fight against Xenophobia yet we are the culprint. We see our fellow nigerians doing same to our own people. I pray God help us all and change  the hates in the hearts of South Africans towards Nigerians in Jesus Name (Amen)

  • It is not a bad thing for Nigerians in south Africa to defend themselves there ,but I will be some how difficult to defend them self over there because they are strangers...coming back home is the best option for now if the south Africa govt can't put a stop to that mess happening there

  • How are they going to defend themselves when they are less privilege, they should come back, but Pulse News stated that security men have apprehended 180 suspects.

  • We can never take up arm and protect ourselves in another man's country, they are more than us for crying out loud.

The best options for Nigerians living in South Africa is to come back home and start demanding good living conditions from our leaders because if our country is liveable they wouldn't have left initially.

  • If Nigerians should defend themselves that will warrant war, I think the best option is for our government to write to South Africans government to allow Nigerian in South Africa to come home, anyone who refuses to come and is killed, is then the persons problem.

  • In my own view this is a very delicate case, I think they should all come back to Nigeria and operate business of their choice in our country, and do away with all their properties too. And I believed that we have capable people here in nigeria that can handle that kind of properties of theirs which they are busting up with.
