After NYSC What Next

Friends and family as rejoice with this ones who just passed out in their service year, after days and months turns to a year in the course of serving their MOTHER'S LAND.

We've celebrated with them by posting their pictures on our timeline, status, instagram page and the likes. And also render prayers for favorable market for this ones as they face another new phase in life.

My question is, after years in the higher institutions and a year of serving their land what next?

Will they stay back at home for years without a job or what? Because this has always been the stories shared every year by ex-Corpers.

Nigeria I pray God revisit her foundation and make things right for us.

Favorable market for the just concluded ex Corpers!!!

  • Our prayers are with them that they succeed in life. Getting a job is not only the next option. Investing in your handwork is also an option, going into trading and business, etc.

We should not limit the future of our corps members to just getting a job and living on salaries the rest of their lives. There are thousands of opportunity out there for them to explore.

Don't waste time searching for a job. Get something doing.

  • The truth is the world is no longer black and white, first class no longer means sure job. Most mistakes graduates make is starting to make plans for the future after they've already graduated whereas they should have started since they were still in school.

  • It's usually the same story because the amount of people ratio to the number of applicants are increasing on a geometric scale, the only way out is to have more businesses coming up, that way there'd be a balance, my advice to people who just concluded nysc please start a business, hopefully one day you wouldn't have to be sacked of forcefully retired

  • This is a very touchy topic of discussion. Students shouldnt wait to finish NYSC before thinking about what to do. We are all aware that the the economy cannot accommodate everyone. Let's start putting things in order before graduation. I wish all fresh leaving corpers success in all their endeavour

  • Yeah this is a nice one

Corpers should asked themselves. what is the reason for NYSC? For me NYSC is not only to serve mother land...but an avenue to learn working skill.

Also ask why are you paid when serving the mother land ought to be selfless activity. This is because they want to pay you so that you could it to start up from somewhere and not depend on others

  • I really wish this new ex-corpers the best as they go into the next phase of their life. And I hope they have a favorable market in job areas. But for those who may not be able to secure a job, this is the time to take the bull by the horns by been self employed. Putting of talents, skills, and handwork into practice will help them a lot.

  • My prayer to them is that the labour market favour them that they secure great Job without having regret on their sacrifice for the academic pursuit

With Nigeria economy now it's hard to get a Job now all they need to do is to work on their connection with top influential people around them that can help them get a Job if they are unable to get Job they must not relent but try to get fund if possible to start up any available business

  • It's a good thing to finish serving our mother land. First observe yourself and make tactical decisions. Avoid making mistakes so that even when you make mistakes the consequences wont be grave.  Congratulations to all those that finished service.  Another hurdle has been jumped

  • We all know the situation of our dear country. Corpers should not wait for the government instead they should start a business such as poultry, snail rearing, clothing and also learn different skills such as graphic design, cinematography and photography. With these skills, they can establish themselves and fend for their family.

  • The truth remains that as a young graduate, we  should develop the capacity to be job creators and not job seekers. There are so many opportunities out there which we can grab, start and grow with small capital. Its about changing our mentality from seeking for a job to creatling a job and employ people.

  • I don't really believe there are no jobs out there, please we should all be guided there are jobs. But the question is are the graduates employable?. No one wants to employ a liability.

  • While there is no presence of any white collar job, I think all corpers should embrace the scheme initiated by the FG as SAED to learn or be involved in any entrepreneur activity that could make such graduate stand on their own after service. Hence, they become less dependent on their parents
