The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria(MACBAN) said they would shut down all meat markets in the South and as such it would lead to scarcity of meat in Nigeria. The association complained about the objection made by the region against the RUGA settlement by the Federal Government, while also presenting that the Eastern region was the first to object to the settlement after they had provided them with meat and as such, they would not do so again.
In line with this, the Former Minister of Aviation replied them on twitter, saying:
Who are you in support of? Lets hear from you.
Let's stop eating beef.it is a good development for the South to boycott beef consumption,lt keep them out of business.chiken, snail and fish even bush meat here we come
Shoting down meat market is not the best option, we dont have fuel wells all over NIGERIA but everyone is using fuel.
I dont understand why a particular group will want to enforce a policy on others. though shoting down cow meat market in the south will help improve the marketing of other animals meat like poutry and fishery thereby creating more jobs for the unemployed graduates in this disciplines.
Whether they shut down or not people would always find an alternative to survive

Cow meat is not the only meat we have in Nigeria. If they shut down, other alternatives like chicken, turkey meats would take over.
that is a nice observation by him,Nigeria needs to improve in thier meat production
not a good move. we are all one. we depend on one another for survival. during this just concluded eid festivals. lots of people complained about scarcity of pepper & tomatoes just because the suppliers from the north went on salah break
This is laughable, shutting down the meat markets would not make the South to change their minds. The Southerners suffered a lot during Fulani Herdsmen attacks in the region and also beef is not the only meat for consumption there are other alternatives.
If they carry on with there proposed action. I think people will also look for alternative. Cow meat is not the only meat. There is other animals that can be subtitude for cow.
Shutting down meat market doesn't sound good, crude oil situated in certain regions but the whole country benefits so I see no reason why ruga settlement should be imposed on states that doesn't want it.

Shutting down the meat market is not the best solution and this will not make the south to change there mind. You can do whatever you like cow meat is not the only meat in Nigeria.
Let them shut down their meat supplies and aee who loses, the south can always opt for other sources of meat, like poultry and the likes but who will buy their cows, Northerners don't patronise cow business like the south. So let them carry on. It's even better once they're not selling to them it means they will take their cows out of those regions and we will rest from all these fulani herdsmen noises
Meat is not generating gdp to Nigeria econonics they should make the meat they are exporting to south and east generate national income for Nigeria by exporting them to other countries we can made do of the ones we have in the south. We don't needs killing of our parents and aged people in their own land in the name of cattle rearing. Do to others as you want them do to you.
Well if they think that it is the best way to go about RUGA then they should go ahead. But one thing they should also know is that it is not only cow meat that is the meat available for humans to eat. Their is bush meat, pork, goat and so on.
Other countries make changes that would take positive effect on the economic, but the changes been initiated over here in Nigeria would have little or positive effect to our economy, now calcuate the number of Meat retailers and suppliers this would affect financially
