Causes Of Global Warming And Its Effects
Global warming is the average increase on the earth's surface temperature due to the release of green house gases from human and industrial activities.
Green House Effect
Naturally, the earth warms and cools itself. The temperature of the sun is about 6000 degrees Centigrade and about 83% of the solar energy penetrates to the earth's atmosphere and warms the earth surface.
Causes Of Global Warming
It started in the industrial revolution of 1800 when Tue establishment of industries took a center stage and rise in industrialization has increase in motor vehicles and aeroplane for transportation, bush burning, crude oil exploration etc
Effect Of Global Warming
> Rise in sea level for instance when the sea level rises, it leads to flooding of the low coastal areas of the world which provides home for 5% of the world population.
> Heavy Rains In the year 1880 the average temperature of the earth surface has increased by 0.5 degree Centigrade (0.9F). It is predicted by the end of this century, global temperature will increase by 4 degree Centigrade, and it will cause rise in temperature which in turn causes more water to evaporate into the atmosphere.
> Salt water intrusion. Salt water intrusion from the oceans and sea into fresh water bodies such as rivers, streams and lakes will destroy fish water organisms including fish.
