In our days we have seen churches invite comedians to perform in church services to entertain the worshippers but from the Bible we have been made to understand that the church is a place of worship and prayer and not for entertainment or things that are not spiritual so on this note is it right to allow comedians on the altar to crack jokes?
Depends on the kind of joke. Yes, the church isn't a place of entertainment yet we have people who come to dance in the church during a particular celebration of the church, yet after church, food and drinks are shared probably when there's a celebration in church, yet singers apart from choirs come to sing. If a joke glorifies the name of God, I see nothing in it.
Comedy is not in any way related to worshipping or praying to God, the scriptures made it clear that in the end time many things will happen some in my name ( God ) so to me it is totally wrong.
Inviting the right comedian doesn't affect our worship, because in this same bible GOD said be happy at all time so when I'm laughing and it comes to Prayer I will have the zeal to pray well and worship GOD.
Total No to my opinion.
Church is a building where Christian gather in a fellowship with God to pray and worship His name not a social ground. But in our churchs today comedian are been invited to church and stand in altar it's totally wrong.
Yes it makes the church lively, and it’s improves churches membership.....Happiness is free and it would always interest me if “Ay Show” comes to our church every Sunday a lot of members and family will be waiting...
Hmm, from my own point of view, I think it's right to do that because, to win souls nowadays doesn't take preaching alone, hosting an event that will draw people's attention to the church will give you a chance to preach the word to them
It is totally rubbish for comedians to the acting comedy in church. They are disrespecting God now.
Yes, but their comedy should be clean. Worshippers in church need to relax their nerves too. A good laugh is a healing balm to the soul too.
If you'll ask I'll tell you is not right, if is inside the church during church service but if is during ceremonies like send off prayers, child dedications is not bad at all
Comedians should be allowed to perform in churches because there is no part in the Bible where God said his people shouldn't be happy in church,i don't think God made any restrictions to entertainment
when you make mention of altar you make it look like the concrete floor itself has embedded anointing in it...... besides every once in a while it's not bad to make God's people happy by bringing comedians so far they don't say anything wrong or indecent
If the Bible say it's not right to allow comedians in church so what are we to change the principles...
Yes, but making a good comedy
Comedians are allowed to perform in church
Why not? Are they not entertainers. Even church goers should be allowed to laff and remove sorrows
Yes but only Godly comedian should be allow
Yes i don't think it's bad for them to perform at churches but only that their comedies should be clean and holy
A very Fat Nooooooooooooooo. its not biblical
When comedians come into the church, they should be mindful of the things they joke about. They should not even go into the word of God...they are there to just lift the spirit of the congregation and make them comfortable in the house of God
This goes a long way to show that those churches which allow comedians to stand in the church altars and perform their entertainment comedy are just operating churches for money making purposes. I say no to such abuse of the holy sanctuary... Comedians should not be allowed in the alter/church of God
What should a comedian be doing in a church in the first place?
I believe when we come to church, we are solely there for business of salvation and not to crack jokes
One thing we should first note is that, the bible talks about love been the principal thing. If comedy is a way of making somebody happy and relax, then that shows love. Its not a bad thing at all when its in alliance with bible.
It does not matter weather comedians entertainments the church or not what matters is the kind of jokes display in the church does it glorify God or does glorify devil.
It can be allowed depending on the type of activity going on in the Church at any particular time. For instance its not right to see a comedian performing on stage during a Sunday Service but during other social celebrations in Church I do not think it is a bad idea
Its not really right, when you look at it, you will realise that some churches do this to draw souls to God but their intention is not always achieved. Imagine have AY perfoing in a church service, the church will be flooded for that day, people come have fun, laugh and forget the real reason for their being there
I don't know if is right or wrong, but to me, i think is not that bad, depending on what is being done in the church, you can't call comedians on a Sunday service, maybe before or after preaching, that's trash.
No, because church is a place we gather to worship God. If anyone want to entertain the members of his or her church, using an event center is ok.
Because the definition of the Church from my understanding in the Bible is not a comedy hall. It is a place of communing with the father, a place of business with God.
Only if Godly. The introduce joy in the faces of the members.
The church has lost their primary assignment they have lost their primary value that is why they do all kind of rubbish in the church and you hear does comedians making jest of pastors and they'll be opening their mouthJesus enter into the temple and saw them buying and selling it change their mouth that this is my father's house is not a place of jokes just have is not for the therfs okay that's all
Is absolutely wrong to allow comedians in Church because church is meant for worshipping God not for comedy.
What were you expecting?? Ok, Where do you expect them to showcase the Talent that God himself have bestowed on Them??? In the Clum party or where!? Please let's support ourselves with Bible Verses that show that ,, its a sin
The church is distinct from the world and must be kept apart thus. Will you bring comedian to the court room?
We should learn to reverence God, and not make the church a place of joke.
It was things like this that Jesus chased people from the Temple.
Everything is wrong here. Today we have actors in the pulpit trying hard to amuse people, telling them what they love hearing and never cross the gospel message of truth.
Its not bad for commedians to perform and show their talent in church but it must be carefully validated, there should know it is a church program and not worldly program, caution need to be passed for entertainners.
I see nothing wrong in allowing comedians to performing church only if the message they are trying to convey to the members of the church is reasonable and comes from the scripture readings
It's not right cause Paul said in one of his epistle that his preaching was not with enticing words of men so church is not meant to entertain you but teach you the needed truth
Comedians should be allowed to perform in churches because there is no part in the Bible where God said his people shouldn't be happy in church.
It is absolutely wrong....but it has become a lifestyle in our churches today......so sad...
They shouldn't be allowed to perform in the church because it's a holy place. There are other places for them to perform.
Its absolutely a wrong thing, because most of the comedians we have now are wayward so it will be a bad decision if they bring their reckless life to polite the chuch with unreasonable laughter.
Comedians into the church is based on individual mindset
Left to me comedians can be invited to church programmes which is aimed at just peaceful and cheerful gatherings
For me, it should be a healthy and Godly joke, if Christians can't have fun in the house of their father (God), where else can the have it.
It's really not cool....4 comedians to perform in d church... because the church is a holy place meant for praying purposes
Comedy has never been regarded as a sin, if the comedy made is clean, then what's stopping it from making the church laugh and relax. Who says God doesn't like humor
A place of worship should be respected
And keep sacred.
If it's during church services, I don't think it's right but if there's any other programme other church service,it is not bad. But the comedy must be to convey message to people.
Personally for me it is not the right place for a comedian to tell jokes. If the pastor of a church wants to uplift his or her congregations, the pastor can throw in a few jokes during the sermon.
The church is never a place of "nights of a thousand laugh", The church is meant for a true worship of God not a place to have fun or relaxation point
To me I will not support it but if it should happens at all, it should be light jokes and not mockery of anyone or the things of God. The comedian should understand he or she is in the presence of God and the kind of words to be used should be moderate And not worldly
