Minimum Wage: NCP Begs FG To Reach Agreement With Labour

The National Conscience Party (NCP) has urged the Federal Government to do its best to speedily resolve all issues delaying the implementation of N30,000 minimum wage.

The Lagos State Chairman of the party, Mr Fatai Ibuowo, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Sunday.

He said workers had endured enough hardship owing to the prevailing economic realities, saying that implementation of the new minimum wage would give them some succour.

“We are appealing to the Federal Government to do its best to implement the N30,000 minimum wage.

“Nigerian workers have faced a lot of hardship because of high costs of goods and services and so cannot wait to be paid the new wage.

  • The minimum wage is very important and must be implemented by the government as soon as possible because almost everything about the economy is shrinking, the price of goods in the market kept on increasing day by day. So please the government should pay this minimum wage at least let know if things will get a little bit better

  • Honestly if you compare other countries and their minimum wage to this very one that has not seen the light of the day, it's obvious that we still have a long way to go in trying to address the myriad of issues the common Nigerian Man faces. Going by how our economy is nosediving and no good Government policies on ground to salvage the situation, I don't think it will change anything when implemented. Prices of commodities will shoot up and the meagre thirty thousand naira can't do anything...

  • Very good, the hardship is becoming to much to endure.

Private sectors are taking in money but are paying shillings to their workers.

If the new minimum wage is implemented, then there is high probability of reduced hardship

  • You mean 30,000 naira for A country with numerous natural resources, one of the best exporters of crude oil as a minimum wage bill is a good implementation? Like seriously I'm sad at the Way this country is being ran

Having a 30,000 naira in this present Nigeria economic status is useless as a #5 not to talk of having that as a monthly pay! It's appalling
