My First Flight Experience

It happened when I was 8 years old. It was a 2-stop flight route. I was nervous as I walked down the plane ramp after going through numerous checks. When I settled down with my parents, the seat belts were strapped in and the plane took off on the runway. It was exhilarating until I noticed a funny feeling in my ears. It was because of the pressure as we were gaining altitude. It became unbearable and started crying because the pain was increasing. It later stabilized and my dad laughed at me and told me it happened at times. To this day, i look back and laugh as I'm now used to it.

  • Been in a flight for the first time could be very fun and at the same time scary, going on a plane for the first time was a mixed feelings for me, I was happy and still scared on the other hand, I was just thinking of how so many people had died through plane crash

  • My first flight experience was from Lagos to Warri. I had heard a lot about people's first flight experiences and so I braced myself for impact. the moment the flight started ascending, I nearly shouted, cos I thought I was going to fall from the sky. that feeling you have when someone throws you up the sky and leaves you to fall on the bare ground. that was the feeling i had. other than that it was a swift first flight experience.

It was a moment I enjoyed cause I was even served breakfast.

  • So nice to read from you. My first flight was sometime in 2012 Arik Air Owerri to Abuja for the first time representing my agency in a meeting somewhere at Wuse 2. It was fun. I boarded the flight, and luckly my seat was with the window where I can look through to watch the wonderful scene. I can't forget that very day in a jiffy. I noticed my ears were blocked upon exiting from the plain while in Abuja. Few minutes later, it was reopened. My first time experience though.

  • I was 30 years old when I had my first experience of flying, I was very excited to see what will happen to me as I was told is not going to be that pleasant for me. But to the amazement of myself and my colleagues I was just calm as if I've had flying experience before. Even though there was nothing unusual from me deep inside I became frightened immediately the plane took off and when it descended to land. Today I don't have that fear anymore.

  • I also had a funny experience during my first flight.. I was about 6 years old and it was a connective flight. We stopped at Freetown and wanted to take off to England. We had already gained enough altitude to proceed then the plane started experiencing turbulence and I started screaming,  my mum tried calming me down. I can never forget how two girls seating beside me were laughing so hard.

When the flight began, like 30 mins into the journey I started having this funny feeling in my tummy. I tried to relax so it’d go but then I ended up vomiting, felt so embarrassed.

I was curious about how it could lift itself with so much people inside. I later was able to find all my answers. Oh I did not talk about the bumpy experience which was rather scary.

My father took us on a pleasure trip to Katmandu, the Capital of Nepal. We went by air. We had got reservation of tickets long in advance. We reached India Gandhi International Airport two and half-hours earlier than the scheduled flight-time. We had to complete some customs and other formalities before emplaning. Our plane was ready for flight. It was a very big and spacious aeroplane with luxurious seats. It looked so royal, impressive and wonderful. It was for the first time that 1 had seen aeroplanes. I was really excited and full of many expectations. Our seats were near the windows, which gave us a fine view of the outside world. The pilot started the engines which gave out a loud roar, and then it began to move. Soon it was airborne and flew higher and higher. I looked through the window and enjoyed the panoramic view of the city. The river Yamuna looked like a silver-thread broken here and there. The people looked like dots and buildings like toys. I was filled with great joy and thrill. Our plane flew smoothly and glided through the air like a bird. The trees, houses, buildings, rivers etc., seemed flying away backward with a great speed. Small woolly clouds floated around us making the view that of a fairyland. The plane glided at area speed so smoothly that I hardly felt any movement and motion, but a very gentle push. The landscape below presented an enchanting sight

Before then I didn't even know how to swim but I had no choice but to enter the boat because I was on my way to work and praying to God that nothing happen to the boat on the way.

I entered the boat and then we started the journey, my heart started to beat faster. At a point, we stopped at the center of the ocean. I began to wonder what happened that made us stop. We heard that the engine was faulty and would need urgent repair. What! I screamed. In the middle of the ocean? I started praying again.

Not long, the engine was fixed and I got to my destination without any problem.
