What is Sleep Paralysis?

Have you ever gone to sleep like we normally do and when it's time to wake up, you feel paralyzed? Yes! You just experienced SLEEP PARALYSIS.

While some spiritual or religious people believe that it's a sign of the presence of a demonic entity, perhaps an epiphany; scientifically, it has nothing with demons or gothic invisible creatures.

Sleep Paralysis happens when your brain is literally awake but your limbs feel numb and your body refuses to follow the command.

How does it happen?

For those who has never experienced it, you're in for a treat. And the rest of us that have, well, what more can I say, we know how bizarre and scary it could be when it happens.

Sometimes, it happens when we fall into the state of our subconscious mind (which means, we're neither awake nor asleep). Once it kicks in, your central nervous system shuts down, so does reflex actions. You'll try to talk but you won't be able to. You'll feel like you're dead or about to die. But as terrible as it sounds, it's really not a huge deal.

Why does it happen?

I think it happens when you deprive yourself of rest or sleep. So, early to bed, early to rise. Get enough rest and sleep.

Sleep paralysis is a natural occurrence, a lot of of people misinterpret it for spiritual manifestation. 

There are stages of sleep and it happens in a particular stage, when you experience it, don't panic, just let it wear off.

Sleep paralysis can be as a result of stress from exercises or activities, this can happen to anyone, it's not necessarily physical, it can be a psychological Stress which requires medical attention

I personally experience it at times but I've come to realize it happens when we don't completely focus a while before sleeping which makes the mind wake at a point in time buh the body may not follow suit
