ALAGBA of OGBOMOSO land (the name that was given to the tortoise)
The tortoise Died at the age of 344 years, he live for many years.
what is your thought about the tortoise?
This tortoise has proved to be a significant one,in biology, according to the classification of life, tortoise don't live more than two centuries but this one lived for more than three centuries,I read so much about this tortoise and am convinced this tortoise is a legend.
Yeah, I saw the news on Facebook yesterday
How the tortoise was being catered for while it was alive. It even had its own personal servants that attend to its needs
And it had seen the rise and fallnof dynasties
I wish to live long also but not as long as the tortoise though
Amazing.. This tortoise needs to be celebrated. It Indeed was a gift from God. I am really sad to hear of its demise and I don't know if to say 'may it's soul rest in peace'
The tortoise is really a gift from God, read about the history of this tortoise a lot of times, the tortoise has really indeed seen the rise and fall of kings, he has seen so many things and has lived for more than three centuries. I will like to live old too.
Everything comes to someone as surprised so this tortoise lives for four good centuries and yet die and really sad yesterday when I hear that Alagba has pass away may his soul rest in peace because everything has to taste death so that the end of his lines
But really surprised everyone of an Animal to lives for centuries.
Alagba goodnight lol
Well.. I think tortoise are one of the creatures with very long life span. Tortoise can live for 500 years depends on the specie. Scientists should try and work on the gene that makes them live that long
Well a tortoise is believed to be one of the oldest living creatures of the world. All we support me when i say that we have been made to know that the tortoise is one of the smartest creatures from even as far back as when we were in nusery schools from things like story books, nursery rhymes e.t.c.The tortoise is a really unique and legendary creature of the animal world.
So sad to hear about the death of the tortoise tho but it has lived more than it actually have and that alone has made it an exceptional creature. I hope it will be remembered and the place where the tortoise lived in will be mark as a tourist center in future.
I was told by one of my brother live in ogbomosho, it's a great souvenir for Africa. Even it will a tourism center for Nigerian where others people from foreign country will visit
Really so sad. Had this tortoise been able to talk, we would have learnt so much from it. So it's no more. It's really painful. I just wish we can cultivate the culture of keeping pets and taking good care of them.
It's a pity for the poor tortoise. I considering how rare it is to find one nowadays. It's sad yup lose one that have lived this long. I personally have seen a tortoise just once.
Adieu papa, this tortoise, senoir me, senior my grant parents. it is privilege to me to have seen, sat and took picture with this tortoise...
as a matter of fact, when i was in primsry three over three decade ago, I was clue to our black and white Tv set when NTA ran a documentary about this tortoise. i took my pleasuring time to go and witness this gentle animal. it is a pity that my set was stolen i would have upload me and this animal here. even in the last esther period, i was at shoun ogbomosho place to see this oldest animal on earth again.
good night baba as i known many people of ogbomosho will be biding you now
Well, to me thats a super tutoise to have lived up to 300+. Because, there are myriads of turtoise that had died before this one. There must be something mysterious about the turtoise...
I was shocked when I heard about the demise of Alagba of my Town... It was such a sad demise to all of Ogbomosho citizens..
Also, To my own view; The tortoise will be more than that age cos I think it was when it was brought to the palace that they started counting its age..
