The issue of drug abuse is as a result of illiteracy... Most of the youths who engage in drug abuse does I know the negative effects of it. I suggest mass education should be carried out both on media, television and radio to enlighten the masses on the deverstating nature of drug abuse.

Drug and alcohol abuse is becoming a public health problem among the youths. Health educators, families, schools, civil society, religious organizations and the community should be concerned and worried that more youths are fast joining the drug train, drinking and smoking away their future for the pleasure of getting high, which pose a threat to the health and safety of the the youths. Preventing these unwholesome situation can be achieved through, intervention strategy, advocacy and awareness of the adverse effect of drugs and alcohol addiction to our youths health and life.

On the Government perspective, there is a policy to curb the importation of this drugs and alcohol but just seem to work only on the papers. On the family side, a Yoruba adage says "Train your child so that he/she will give you peace of mind when you are supposed to be at rest of mind; lack of proper upbringing is a major causative factor. On the addict side, bad friends and comparison is the main factor
