Why Most Nigerian Visas Are Being Declined

There are a lot of honest, modest, honorable and truthful Nigerians out there but the untruthful and untrustworthy ones outways the honest and truthful. A lot of lies and false documents have been made up by most Nigerians to get what they want.

It has come to a statistical conclusion worldwide that scamming is rampant in Nigeria.

The US embassy has made rules to be strict on Nigerians in the acceptance of visa . Dishonesty, false information, false intention and so on is a result of most visa application being denied by the embassy.

  • The truth be told I am also a victim of this I have had so many opportunities of getting help from friends abroad but with the results they get on the news about Nigerians been a scam and others makes it very difficult. For me to live the country we really can't sit back and watch others ruining the future of others in the country

  • Rather than traveling from country to country making people see us like the runway, why don't we rub minds together and make this country great. Stop the greed each of us have and learn to share and live with love. You can't run from your country

  • This is really disheartening. Nigeria is a corrupt country with corrupt leaders. But, that doesn't mean we don't have good people in Nigeria. I think government should look inward and find out the lasting solution to this. Nigeria embassy in America and other countries should help in making sure eligible Nigerians enter the country which they are ambassador to.

  • Well done Sir. You are on point. But the issue is that Nigeria government has made things so tough for it's citizens that all they do is to find every means possible to survive. I think the correction to this evil omen Should start from restructuring our government.

  • The same thing happened to me last two years when i applied for an American Visa for the purpose of study but it was declined for the same reason that 'all nigerians are bad'. I really felt bad because my dad spent a lot of money on that.

  • When they do say Niger nah scam you think say nah lie. Those Nigerians given visa to go outside the country to benefit their lives, go out there and become a problem to the country and given visa to other Nigerians to travel to those country will all be war.

  • As always this has come from our government, when the  system is corrupt and the leaders are  corrupt the people will have to do things to survive and fraud is the less stressful and fast way for them to think of.

But this is becoming serious as it is blocking the future of so many innocent and honest individuals.

  • I do not blame the American embassy for this as their action is as a result of previous encounters with Nigerians abroad. There are good people amongst us with good intentions yes but the bad ones have overshadowed them. I believe the government should just ensure the process is genuine as well as the reason for departure. People shouldn't be denied their visa simply because "Nigerians are bad".

  • The problem with this country is from within. Many countries are watching us and they've seen how lies, corruption and greed have eaten deep into our system.

The most annoying part of the whole stuff is that we don't even have shame, we carry our nonchalant attitude outside the country. Why won't they deny us visas. I know we have good and honest citizens but the bad ones are making look as if everybody in this country is bad. I just pray things become better.

  • This is very saddening, imagine the giant of Africa being ridiculed by the white just because of the black Sheeps in our lovely nation, well,we are the ones giving them the opportunity to misbehave and run their tongue on Nigeria precisely, why can't our government just work on flying in elites from developed nations down into our country to develop our country too and stabilize probably most things to improve our poor living standard more so to enlighten and make the willing youths useful to the nation and themselves instead of packing ourselves out to already developed nations to do filthy jobs just to earn money

  • I feel pained knowing that Nigeria visa are been rejected in some overseas country

It hurts so bad, but Nigeria is not the only corrupt country in the world, why is our own case different??

I just pray and hope Nigeria is free from corruption some day, because if we continue like this, I wonder what the future of this country will look like.

  • But the truth must be said, the government is not to be blamed much for this but the people trying to fake documents just to leave the country. We can't start blaming the government for everything the citizens does. It's sad hearing bad news about our beloved country. People scamming others doesn't mean there are no good people in the country

  • The image of the country had suffered so much due to activities of some Nigerians who have been caught in crimes like drugs, money luandering, cypercrime etc outside the country and this has made it difficult for sincere honest Nigerians who want to travel being denied visa.

Granted some provide false documents and information which when well  scrutinized the visa is denied. Much needs to be done improve the image of the country.

  • Actually,I have people around me who have been facing this problem,in fact it took my uncle 5 years before his visa was approved.I believe it is simply because they believe all blacks especially Nigerians are corrupt and maybe based on their believe they think allowing Nigerians into their countries may dent and also corrupt the image of their prestigious countries.

  • Sad but that doesn't mean they should denie visas instead they should be more careful in granting visas. Lastly, proper interviews should be done before granting visas so as to know the source of income and some usrfuu details to fish out the ungodly ones.
