You Already Made Plans But What Changed?

As a student, before gaining admissions into our various institutions.Every single one of us had plans, most of us made promises to ourselves, some vowed never to do somethings, some wanted to explore, some wanted to discover who they really are, some just wanted to be free, some wanted to make impact and so on...

But as we all know things don't always go as planned. You can either go from bad to worse, good to bad, bad to good.In terms of going from good to bad, many of us now have become those who we would initially condemn,i know many can relate.

Now, as students we go through various challenges in school that can change our view about life completely. It might be physically, emotionally, financially, emotionally, from peer pressure and so on.For example, an innocent girl leaving home with all hopes high to make her parents proud now due to peer group influence is the total opposite of what are parents would ever imagine.

Now what challenge did you face that change your plans or change you completely, let's discuss and let others learn from it.Thanks

  • for me it always starts from a change in one's desired course, beacause I can say that 95% of the plans made before goinh to the Unversity is based on one's choice of occupation but due to some reasons both man made and natural, deviatioms occur..Me always wanted to be a pharmacist and also an artist..However, i am studying physiology which I am enjoying at least ..So it all comes to praying for ability to be flexible when these changes occur especially towards ones that are beyond our control.

  • Well as you have rightly noted, there are a lot of factors that can make students change their plans but in all the most cause is when the student is not getting the grade he or she set out for or he or she is struggling so much but in the end their results are nothing to show for.

  • My desired course of study was accounting but I was given economics though I'm loving it now. Also I planned matric would be a very fun day with friends and all that, but I was given admission fee days to matric and so my matric was a lonely one. And then all other things I planned to do changed along the line.

  • Being in the higher institution it’s rsallt difficult to keep up and follow up with your initial plans because when you get there you blend with and see new set of individuals. Being around certain people who may be living in a way contrary to what you planned have  a way of influencing you. Bad company corrupts good conduct as they; so in other to focus better on your goals in school it’s best to avoid bad company.

  • After my secondary school my plan was to go to a university to study law, I applied twice but couldn't get an admission, I had to study English language education cos that's the course the school gave me so I had no option. Now I am a teacher instead of a lawyer, so sometimes we just go with what life throws at us and not what we really want.

It is true things doesn’t always go as planned but always have a plan b and c, so that when plan a and b fails, you will not be too shaken and confused cause when you don’t plan well for your university and you are confused, you become venurable and you might take the next available solution be it good or bad.

Mine is that when I was planning to enter the university, I just wanted to go to school and come out well as someone that is able to add value to the world, but now, not only that has changed but my determination for excellence and to be the best in all I do  has now increased .

I Know of Someone who came to school with the mindset of Just going to Class , from class to Hostel and from Hostel to church and the normal triangle life but now she's doing well in other curricular activities and in Volunteering.

In all,  what matters is self discipline and determination to become better and better even when plans change.

  • Your Zeal.

This might come in different ways, for example if all those plans were based on a particular choice of institution and eventually you had to change your choice to meet up with admission ,it's only natural to feel disappointed.

Also an alteration in your already planned course of study contributes mostly to this.

Moving with people who don't have plans that are contrary to yours will deaden your zeal.

    Your orientation.

What changes or alters this is mostly peer group influence.

  • Ofcourse some changes can not be avoided by student. My ambition is to become a medical doctor. I gained admission In to university in to College of medical sciences as I intended to study since I was in primary school, at my 200level exams  what we called  MB2 exams I just felt sick as result of asthmatic attack I have that was always Avery day triggered by the strange formalin ordor that I am comming in to contact with at our Anatomy lab which is unavoidable, I was seriously ill towards to the exam and I lost slot of my continuous accesment (C. A)

Due to that illness I was not be able to make it, I was just withdrawn out of medical collage and all my dreams are shattered. I just had to change my course from MBBS to Microbiology, which  accept it in good faith and as my destiny. But up till now I have the intention of going back to the medical college after my 1st degree in microbiology.

So this change is unavoidable .I gained admission to study Medicine and now I ended up studying Microbiology which I am in my final year now.

I was shocked to know when they started tormenting me to join them or die , I was afaird I started following them till a guy preached to me and I gained myself back and ran away , I changed school after spending 6 and half years in school on a course of 4 years , this nearly ruined my life but am a happy banker thanks to God
