The New Evidence Robert Pattinson May Star In Hideo Kojima’s ‘Physint’

It’s a big morning for Hideo Kojima news with previews of two of his new games, OD and Physint, including a teaser trailer for the former (can you call a three and a half minute video a teaser?)

But what’s attracted the most attention are revelations about Physint, the game Kojima is making for release on PlayStation, one that we know relatively little about. He officially announced three cast members today, Minami Hamabe, Don Lee and Furiosa’s Charlee Fraser, where Kojima raved about that movie after he saw it more than any other we’ve ever seen.

Fans, however, are turning an eye toward the first poster for the game, which shows a man with a gun, a cool coat and what appears to be a bionic arm. And a face, cloaked in shadow. Fans believe that face may belong to none other than Robert Pattinson. The evidence? Some of this is…loose, admittedly, but I do think there’s something to this.

  • It does look like him. For me it’s the nose, and looking at Pattinson, it’s got that small little bump near the top, which you can see in the image. When grown out, Pattinson also has hair that looks like that much of the time. The cheekbone too, a bit, when you get the right angle like above.
  • Hideo Kojima was photographed with Robert Pattinson at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025, so we know they’ve met at least once. It’s not clear how long Physint has truly been in development, and if the two had already been cooking this up by that point, or if this was the beginning of his involvement (this was only four months ago, however).
  • Robert Pattinson is good at playin diverse characters and doing crazy voices. I’m picturing Kojima watching Pattinson in The Lighthouse or Mickey 17 and feeling like he fits into his worlds. Pattinson really can go out there with his voicework, as Mickey 17 demonstrates, plus his Batman voice to an extent. But check him out in The Boy and the Heron, the Studio Ghibli film where he goes to a new level voicing the heron:

This next bit is not evidence, and I suppose it could be evidence to the contrary, but there was a whole thing about how fans believed that Expedition 33 had modeled Gustave after Robert Pattinson, not his voice actor, Charlie Cox. There’s no indication that’s actually true, but regardless, now that a movie has been announced, the call is for Pattinson to play him.

Robert Pattinson is busy. Pattinson will appear in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey in 2026 and return in Matt Reeves’ The Batman Part 2 in 2027. There are also rumors he may appear in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune Part 3, though that’s not confirmed. At this point, he would probably be the highest-profile actor Kojima has cast, if this is true.

I buy it. I think it’s happening. But none of this is confirmation, not even that poster. Kojima is likely saving this for a later reveal.
