Wondering what SpongeBob’s boss might be? Not sure what something is that you haven’t been able to do on U.S. flights since 2000? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with extra hints and the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.

The NYT Mini is a quick version of the newspaper’s larger, long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five Mini grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.

Unfortunately, the New York Times has now made the Mini available only to subscribers. It was previously free to play. You’ll also need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.

It took me 0:37 to complete today’s NYT Mini.

I’m okay with that time! I never really watched SpongeBob SquarePants, so didn’t know 1 Across. It took me a moment to figure out SMOKE and I didn’t get KOREA. The Down clues were all straightforward enough, though.
