Ugreen Launches Its New And Affordable NASync DH2300 For Data Storage At Home

Network Attached Storage devices sit on a network and are available to all with permission to upload and download data. Whether your NAS is used for backing up your computer, storing a photo library or maybe a collection of your favorite music, they are a handy way to set up a general storage area for home and office use.

Ugreen has announced the launch of two new affordably priced NAS products aimed at home users. The Ugreen NASync DH2300 is designed to remove the barriers to home users adopting high-capacity and local data storage instead of cloud platforms like OneDrive or DropBox. The brand has also announced the Ugreen NASync DH4300 Plus, a 4-bay SATA NAS device for homes and offices who want even more storage space.

Ugreen says that for most entry-level users, the new DH2300 will be a game-changer. The 2-bay SATA NAS can support a total storage capacity of up to 60TB, split over a pair of 30TB drives. This capacity was chosen as it’s big enough to accommodate large volumes of data, including extensive photo libraries, 4K video collections, daily work documents and other multimedia content.

Your Own Cloud For The Home

By centralizing data storage, the DH2300 eliminates reliance on scattered portable drives or expensive cloud subscriptions by providing a unified storage solution where all users can store their precious digital assets. The DH2300 is compatible with most NAS SATA hard drives, reducing upfront hardware investment and making it cheaper to fill the two bays. Like most NAS devices, the DH2300 doesn’t ship with any hard drives; that’s for the customer to choose, buy and fit.

One of the biggest barriers for entry-level users when moving over to a NAS is the fear of the complex setup process. Ugreen says it has allayed these fears with the DH2300 by incorporating intuitive features that are designed to be used by absolute beginners.

The DH2300 runs on Ugreen’s UGOS Pro OS, which guides users through the setup process with clear, step-by-step on-screen prompts. The system deliberately uses plain language and visual cues, eliminating the need for any previous experience in setting up a NAS. Ugreen reckons that a user can have everything up and running — including drive installation, network connection and basic function configuration — in less than 10 minutes.

Easy-To-Use NAS App

Ugreen has also developed a dedicated NAS app for smartphones that centralizes all the device’s core functions, including file management, automatic photo backup and media streaming to TVs. The app takes away the need for users to switch between multiple applications or learn new interfaces. Everything can be completed with simple taps on the mobile app.

To simplify the network configuration, the DH2300 is equipped with NFC technology. Users can establish an instant connection between their NFC smartphones and the NAS by tapping the two devices together, bypassing complex steps such as IP address input or router setting adjustments. This feature reduces the time and effort required to connect the device.

With a drive that’s open to multiple users, security has to be a top priority. Ugreen says the DH2300 has multiple layers of protection to ensure data privacy and integrity that exceed the security capabilities of cloud services by using encryption protocols like TLS/SSL, RSA, and AES, to secure data transmission and storage.

Two-Factor Authorization

The DH2300 also supports two-factor authentication to prevent unauthorized account access. Additionally, it has been certified by Germany’s TÜV, a leader in safety and quality testing. TRUSTe has also validated its compliance with international security and privacy standards.

The system stores all files locally so that users fully own and control their data when in local account mode, which limits access to the NAS to users on the local network. It also includes a File Vault feature, which is an exclusive private space that blocks anyone else with access to the NAS from accessing your private files.

The DH2300 is equipped with hardware optimized for everyday use. For example, it has a 4K 60Hz HDMI port so you can connect the NAS to a TV for seamless playback of 4K videos and photo slideshows. This feature lets users enjoy their multimedia content on a larger screen without relying on additional devices like a laptop or desktop.

Flexible RAID support is also included with the DH2300. This enables data to be stored redundantly across both hard drives. If one of the drives should fail, your data won’t be lost. The DH2300 can work with multiple RAID modes, including JBOD, Basic, 0 and 1. Users can select the appropriate mode, choosing between maximum storage capacity with RAID 0 or data redundancy for critical files, such as RAID 1.

Pricing and Availability:

The Ugreen NASync DH2300 is available now from UGREEN.com and Amazon.com. The price is $209.99 for the DH2300 2-Bay SATA model. For those who need even more space, the Ugreen NASync DH4300 Plus SATA with 4 bays is available and is priced at $429.99. All prices exclude hard drives.
