WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Full Card And Potential Surprises

OMAHA, NEBRASKA – MAY 5: Paul Heyman takes the mic during Monday Night RAW at CHI Health Center on … More
The WWE will continue its rekindling of a classic weekend program with another edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. It’s happening on Saturday, May 24, from Tampa, Florida.
Based on the graphics on WWE.com, it appears the main event is set to have World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso defending his title against Logan Paul. That’s a mild surprise considering John Cena will face R-Truth on the same card.
Cena’s clash with Truth is a non-title affair. Perhaps that explains why it wouldn’t take top billing despite involving Cena. Likewise, the tag-team matchup between CM Punk and Sami Zayn vs. Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker could have been the main event, but it is seemingly set to warm the canvas for Uso and Paul.
Here is a look at the viewing information for the event.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event Potential Surprises
What Are the Chances Cody Rhodes Returns?
SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – JANUARY 17: Cody Rhodes standing in the ring during Smackdown at Pechanga … More
Obviously, Rhodes is coming back sooner rather than later. We haven’t seen him on WWE programming since he dropped the title last month at WrestleMania 41. While having Rhodes return at SNME would be a way to put the show over as a legitimate regular program that features marquee storyline shifts, I think WWE will save Rhodes’ return for Money in the Bank, which happens on June 7 in Los Angeles at the Intuit Dome.
The arena is state-of-the-art, and Rhodes’ return could go viral. It seems the promotion would want to save that for a spot like MITB.
Could R-Truth Really Defeat John Cena?
ST LOUIS, MISSOURI – MAY 10: John Cena addresses R-Truth during the WWE Backlash Press Conference at … More
In short, no. This match was made a non-title affair so fans would believe Truth has a chance. Even with that adjustment, this match will probably have some comedic moments, but it will end with the WWE attempting to shift the love away from Cena by having him savagely beat down Truth.
I don’t think it will work. I’m more apt to believe the fans will be chanting “one more time” as Cena hits Truth with an Attitude Adjustment from atop the roof. Too many fans simply want to feel the opposite way they believe the story is encouraging them to feel.
In any case, we’ll see if my prognostication is correct on all fronts this Saturday.
What Are the Chances Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker Get a Third Member?
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – APRIL 21: Bron Breakker, Paul Heyman, and Seth Rollins pose at entrance During … More
Of all the concepts I’ve discussed, this is the one that might have the best chance of happening on Saturday. It seems inevitable for the Heyman-led faction to go without a third member for long.
I think it could ultimately be Austin Theory, but it could also be someone from NXT. In any case, I would not be surprised to see the third man influence the decision at the end of this tag-team match.
